I understand the younger age limit, clearly, but the older - there is a lack of musical theatre in wales that is deemed accesible without upper age limits, considering it is an amateur company/production

Hi Matt,
Our objective for Retro was to give "Young People"in South Wales the chance to perform in Musical Theatre. Due to RENTS material it would not be wise, having people aged under 18 performing in the production due to our Child Protection Policy.
If an auditionee is 17 now and they turn 18 before the show, then they would be allowed to take part.
With the story lines in RENT our production team agreed that an "Older" group would challenge these difficult topics with sensitivity and show emotion towards the piece.
As per the European Union Legislation, a person is considered Young up to the age of 25, this is why we have capped the age range.

Why is restricted to just 18-25? I think if you got talent you should be able to take part espeially in amateur productions
